Brother Tim’s Thoughts

Dear Church Family,

In Mark 1:16-18, Jesus invited Simon and Andrew to be His disciples. There are some simple truths we should understand
about discipleship:

• Discipleship focuses on Jesus Christ. It means to be in a living,
  dynamic relationship with Him.
• Discipleship is open-ended. We don’t know where all we will
  have to go or what all we will have to do.
• Discipleship demands sacrifice. As the disciples had to leave their
  nets, we have to leave some things behind to follow Jesus.
• Discipleship requires a lifetime of training. To the end, the
  disciples were often slow in grasping what Jesus was about. Like
  them, we must continue to learn all of our lives.
